Security Certification Assessor Tester Evaluator (SCATE)

Overview: We are looking for a Security Certification Assessor Tester Evaluator (SCATE) to assist our government customer in ensuring the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. SCATEs will maintain two labs and two lab networks. These are used to conduct unclassified research and training. The LAB will be used to perform software assurance reviews. These labs and networks require day to day O&M to operate and to continue to meet all applicable operating and security policies.  All lab hardware and software will be provided by the Government.  The contractor shall provide support to ensure the networks remain operational and secure.   

Clearance Requirements: In-Scope active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Candidates who do not meet this clearance requirement will not be considered.

Responsibilities:
  •  Building and deploying workstations and servers
  • Maintaining Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletin (IAVB) compliance
  • Lab Asset Manager (function of the individual(s) supporting the two (2) TSB Labs)
  • Maintaining network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, etc.)
  • Systematic recap of hardware
  • Maintaining software licenses
  • Creating and maintaining all Assessment and Authorization (A&A) paperwork
  • Keeping system authorized under the current A&A (ICD 503 RMF process)
  • Performing software assurance reviews (source code analysis) in TSB Lab.

A successful SCATE requires technical knowledge in the majority of the following:
  • DCID 6/3 or !CD 503 and the Government's certification and accreditation process;
  • Networks, computer components, system protocols, and COTS technology;
  • System methodologies including: client/server, web hosting, web content servers, policy servers, directory servers, firewalls; WAN, MAN, LAN, switches, and routers;
  • Software integration of COTS and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) products;
  • Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac OS X administration;

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in data security administration
  • Must possess IAM Level II Certifications
