Security Certification Test Engineer

Overview: We are looking for a Security Certification Test Engineer (SCATE) to assist our government customer in ensuring the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. This SCATE position will maintain two labs and two lab networks. These labs are used to conduct unclassified research and training, and require day to day O&M to operate and to continue to meet all applicable operating and security policies.

Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph. Candidates who do not meet this clearance requirement will NOT be considered. Candidates who currently possess TS/SCI and are in need of a polygraph will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Building and deploying workstations and servers
  • Maintaining Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert and Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletin compliance
  • Lab Asset Manager (function of the individual(s) supporting the two (2) TSB Labs
  • Maintaining network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, etc.)
  • Keeping system authorized under the current A&A (ICD 503 RMF process)
  • Performing software assurance reviews (source code analysis) in TSB Lab

A successful SCATE requires technical knowledge in the majority of the following:
  • DCID 6/3 or !CD 503 and the Government's certification and accreditation process
  • Networks, computer components, system protocols, and COTS technology
  • System methodologies including: client/server, web hosting, web content servers, policy servers, directory servers, firewalls; WAN, MAN, LAN, switches, and routers
  • Software integration of COTS and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) products
  • Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac OS X administration

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science/Related
  • 5+ years of experience
  • IAM Level II Certifications
