Senior Systems Administrator:
Join our IT team and help us deliver world-class support of our internal applications and services providing high availability and performance. This role is based in our Mountain View, CA office and will help provide a cutting-edge environment for Cumulus Networks’ infrastructure. Our IT team prides itself on a culture of teamwork, customer service, and enablement – empowering our colleagues throughout the organization to maximize their impact on our products, our customers, and our company.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and maintain infrastructure services and tools
  • Support engineering labs and corporate environments
  • Scope and guide implementation for engineering lab and IT projects
  • Provide application and infrastructure support for our Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Install, configure, and maintain internal and external Linux servers
  • Participation in on-call rotation for internal support

Requirements:
  • Expert-level knowledge of Linux systems administration
  • Strong knowledge of protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, TLS, LDAP)
  • Familiarity with networking technologies (routing, switching, tunnels/encapsulation)
  • Programming or scripting experience in Python, shell, or equivalent
  • Experience with database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Familiarity with automation systems (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience supporting engineering and IT applications such as wikis, ticket systems, and version control systems
  • Knowledge of storage systems and protocols (NFS, RAID, object storage)
  • Experience with cloud operations (e.g. AWS, Digital Ocean, Google Cloud) a plus
  • Knowledge of lab operations (space, power, cooling, capacity planning, maintenance support) a plus
  • Strong technical problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
