Interior Designer

Job description:

Interior Designer / Project Designer will determine criteria for client’s projects and come up with recommendations with regard to space planning, furniture selections and building/furniture finishes. Strong presentation skills are needed to present these solutions to the customer. The designer is to ensure they are meeting the needs of today while providing flexibility for future change


  • Work with client’s to obtain goals, interior design preferences, needs, budget guidelines and requirements of the project
  • Consider how the space will be used and how people will move through the space
  • Prepare standard interior design plans and solutions and coordinate moderate to large interior design projects
  • Prepare design specifications, CAD drawings, budget and bid preparations and general interior design activities
  • Prepare furniture plans, floor plans, design drawings, and bid documentation.
  • Prepare design recommendations, alternatives and solutions for projects of limited complexity
  • Specify furnishings and materials, such as furniture, flooring and building finishes
  • Prepare visual presentations to demonstrate ideas and alternatives to clients
  • Confer with outside vendors regarding furnishings, fixtures and materials


  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferably from a CIDA accredited in interior design program)
  • Proficient in AutoCad and CAP Software (Or similar program), and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the methods and materials including furniture procurement and project management
  • Knowledge of commercial building codes and ADA requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills; strong presentation and public-speaking skills
