If you would like to learn how to practice law in a competitive environment with an opportunity to have a full time job when you graduate, consider our office as an option. We are looking for highly motivated students who have top grades. This is in many ways a legal apprenticeship. While there is a small financial remuneration the focus is on you learning and gaining the skills needed to practice law. You will learn day to day operational matters that make a law firm work and financially successful. You will not have a position such that you likely expected or think from watching legal television shows, but you will learn and grow with the skills necessary to survive and thrive in the practice of law.
You will learn to intake client matters, marketing and decide with experienced lawyers which case you take and why. You will show that you can handle your class schedule, personal life and the competing demands of the practice of law while functioning as part of a team. Since you already know how to conduct legal research and to draft documents, your day to day work will likely not consist of that type work although when you are asked to do it you will demonstrate your proficiency and excellence.
