Field Engineer

We are seeking a Field Engineer based out of Calgary, AB to provide outstanding service to our field and office customers. The Field Engineer provides technical support and training to rig and field office personnel utilizing Corva, installs and services Corva equipment on Drilling Locations, and performs other tasks 20 days per month. The Field Engineer supports customers through face to face meetings and daily conversations.  This position is 20 guaranteed days a month, with occasional travel to other areas as needed.  Occasional nights and weekends will be required.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide technical support for customers on Corva’s system, based upon their requests and business needs
  • Manage roll-out of the Corva platform to rig based users 
  • Train new customers on how to use Corva to optimize their drilling operations
  • Install and service Corva equipment at the rig site 
  • Troubleshoot WITS and WITSML connections both remotely and at the rig site 
  • Trouble-shoot the operation of the web-based system
  • Communicate customers’ needs to Corva 
  • Identify opportunities to add value to customers
  • Build customer dashboards and support customers in building their own dashboards
  • Ensure all work is prioritized and completed correctly
  • Ability to work remotely and manage workload 
  • Other duties as required on an On-Call basis 

Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
  • 3+ years experience in the Oilfield Drilling industry
  • Experience working and interacting with Rig Personnel including Company Men, Directional Drillers, Toolpushers and Mud Engineers  
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 20 days per month (Schedule can be flexible) 
  • Experience working as an MWD or Directional Driller is an asset
  • Experience working with Drilling Engineering and Optimization Tools is an asset
  • Experience working for a Rig EDR provider is an asset (Pason, NOV or Canrig)
  • A high degree of personal initiative; able to work independently and under pressure
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Rig Personnel
  • Basic knowledge of modern computer hardware and software 
  • Willingness to drive long distances regularly required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work well with teams effectively
  • Ability to train others
  • Provide excellent customer service
 
Recommended but not required:
  • Experience with WITS and WITSML Transmission programs
  • Knowledge of modern drilling optimization processesTechnical Degree
