Solutions Engineer - East

As a valuable member of the Solution Engineering team, you will be ensuring prospective customers have a fantastic experience with our technology, securing the role of a trusted technical advisor leading to a technical win. You will partner closely with your sales counterparts to drive customer success, and help your peers on the SE team do so as well. In addition, as a Solution Engineer, you will work closely with other departments for various technical activities such as conference and meetup speaking engagements, delivering technical marketing webinars, assisting with technical competitive analysis, assisting with release-candidate feedback/testing, etc. In particular, you will be an impactful, key driver of valuable field/customer feedback to product, engineering, and technical strategy.

Primary responsibilities of the Solution Engineering role include:
  • 7+ years of strong enterprise infrastructure solution-selling and/or delivery experience with emphasis on successful open source, software defined datacenter, virtualization, cloud, container/container management, infrastructure experience
  • technical credibility extremely important, this is a hands-on role
  • demonstrated success with driving customers to a technical win, partnering closely with sales counterparts
  • ability to team with internal and external resources to drive customer success with our technology and solutions
  • continual facilitation of product and roadmap feedback to PM and Engineering leadership+teams
  • creative, with ability to work on the edge of technology and stay ahead of what customers need and/or are asking about
  • knowledge of, or ability to learn the internals of Kubernetes and tooling around general containerization ecosystem is a must
  • ability to balance multiple engagements with multiple customers
  • presentation skills and presence in front of large and small groups important
  • general devops/site reliability engineering skills, development background, systems engineering, and networking+unix administration are all pluses
