DESCRIPTION
COPA90 is seeking a Licensing Partnerships Manager to help grow, negotiate and manage COPA90 licensing deals around the world. 

The role includes managing distribution partnerships for COPA90 content with other platforms, publishers and broadcasters, as well as developing partnerships with content creators and rights owners to bring 3rd party content into COPA90’s content portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Network, the role is  responsible for establishing and maintaining key relationships with relevant content partners, in addition to negotiating and closing licensing deals.

The right candidate will serve as an advocate, educator and ambassador for the COPA90 brand externally within key content communities, whilst ensuring that licensing partners are fully aligned to support the ongoing growth of the business. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the content licensing and syndication world, with a passion for business development driven by identifying and closing partnership opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Initiate, negotiate and close key distribution deals for COPA90 content - syndicating and licensing COPA90 content formats with external publishers, broadcasters and platforms worldwide
  • Identify sources of 3rd party content (video, audio, articles) that COPA90 could license and distribute on its owned and/or operated channels; develop business relationships with creators, content owners, rights owners
  • Account manage the deals once these are effective, analysing financial impact and developing business cases. 
  • Main point of interface for licensing partners in new and developing markets 
  • Provide support to the wider Network and Marketing team on broader commercial initiatives and strategic planning

  • Ownership of brand marketing decks and sales collateral enabling COPA90 to develop licensing deals, including material to describe COPA90’s slate of content and schedule 
  • Represent COPA90 at key licensing events and conferences 
  • Work cross-functionally on a daily basis with internal teams including, marketing, product, legal, finance, data insights to structure, negotiate and implement all deal terms
  • Liaison with internal Social and Programming team for continual understanding of series/episode scheduling, as well as to feed suggestions on content formats and packaging to those teams based on external market insights 
  • Liaison with Audience Insights team to ensure that all content licensed into the business is aligned to audience strategy, and that key audience metrics & insights are used to develop external licensing deals 
  • Liaison with Product and Content Operations teams to ensure that content can be distributed and ingested easily from external partners, in the right formats with the right permissions and metadata 


REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years experience in a content licensing and distribution role, ideally with a digital publisher / media /  content company 
  • Experience in deal structuring, forecasting and negotiating
  • Deep understanding of all forms of football content and football media. Video (long and short form), audio & articles.
  • Willing to travel regularly in order to engage directly, on the ground with content partners
  • Highly self motivated individual, excellent at negotiating with strong interpersonal skills and  the ability to relate to local cultural aspects
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Can build and explain financial models and have strong spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent communications skills; You are able to craft and deliver presentations at senior level
  • You are well organised with the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines with attention to detail
  • You enjoy working in a team and closely with a number of internal stakeholders
  • Able to work in a fast moving and ever-changing environment, including working with initiative to take on responsibility and proactively problem solve
