Overview
Coord is an Alphabet-backed startup that helps make city streets more productive, starting with the curb. We're doing this by building tools for cities to collect, analyze, and share curb data, as well as APIs to help private-sector transportation companies to understand curb space better and use it more efficiently. Our product has seen use worldwide, in cities such as New York, San Diego, Stuttgart, and Toronto.
As Coord’s City Partnerships Specialist, reporting directly to the CEO, you are responsible for understanding the curb management needs of cities across North America, and working with those cities to see how Coord can help them meet those needs. This will involve communicating the value of digital curb management through written proposals, conference presentations, in-person meetings, data visualizations, and more. In this high-leverage role, you will not only have the opportunity to directly drive Coord's success and ongoing growth but to change the way cities large and small think about their transportation infrastructure.
The right candidate is a persuasive communicator who has data skills (including proficiency with GIS software) as well as a passion for transportation and a solid understanding of how cities work.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Write custom curb management proposals that are tailored to the specific needs and goals of different cities and government agencies;
- Write articles and blog posts on topics relating to the digital curb;
- Leverage GIS and other data analysis tools to demonstrate the importance of curb space and the value of digital curb management to current and prospective Coord customers;
- Conduct site visits with current and prospective customers to understand how Coord's products work in real-world environments and how they can be improved to better address the needs of cities;
- Attend and present at transportation and parking conferences to spread the word about Coord's products to a wide audience.
Qualifications
- You understand the transportation planning process (Master's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or a related field preferred but not required.)
- You can use data to explain complex concepts and persuade your audience, as demonstrated through coursework or past job experience, and are proficient with GIS software.
- You have excellent written, visual, and in-person communication skills.
- You love cities and deeply care about helping people get around more effectively.
- You have experience working for or with city governments.
- You are excited to not only continuously improve our communication and partnership strategy, but also continuously improve our company.
It’s not required that any single candidate would have expertise across all of these areas—we’re looking for candidates that are particularly strong in a few areas, and have some interest and capabilities in others.
We are very excited to hear from you!
