Real Estate Paralegal

Concierge Auction is looking for a smart and savvy real estate paralegal to join its growing team in downtown Austin. As the Paralegal you will be primarily responsible for creating, proofing, editing and revising and occasionally negotiating legal documents, contracts and correspondence required for residential real estate transactions. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining files; performing due diligence; monitoring the progress of open real estate matters; and, following up to ensure all required actions are completed in a timely manner. 

  • Assist with transactions including drafting and compiling transaction documents, forming corporate entities, preparing closing checklists and tracking completion of checklist items; and, preparing closing binders
  • Negotiate contracts with between company, sellers and agents
  • Preparing title and survey summaries, communicating with attorneys and title agents regarding title issues
  • Responsible for assisting real estate attorneys with reviewing title commitments, title exception documents, and surveys
  • Assisting with diligence on real estate closings
  • Prepare interpretation of contract language when disputes arise
  • May prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document files
  • Work within Salesforce creating records, closing transactions and uploading documents
  • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree (AA) from an accredited college or university required, Bachelor’s preferred
  • Paralegal certificate required
  • Three or more years of directly related experience 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness, persistence to overcome obstacles, good problem solving skills, and ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word 
  • Must be able to respond promptly to customer needs and meet service commitments; prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and be effective working independently and in team situations.
  • Strong ability to collect, research and analyze data, and to identify and solve practical problems in a timely manner; able to deal with a variety of variables in situations where some standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, landlords, contractors, agents and brokers, and the general public.
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions; make timely decisions. Must understand business implications of decisions and work within approved budgets.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as buyer premiums, discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, and areas.
  • Act with integrity in all ways and at all times.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
