The Prepress Technician’s primary responsible is for reviewing, editing, repairing, and enhancing all incoming customer orders to ensure they are completely ready for print production.
The position will perform quality checks for either web, sheetfed, or digital press formats using color standards and theories that apply. This position will also assist in other parts of print production as needed.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge and skills of press operation.
- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge to review customer files for potential problems such as: size, color, imposition, trim/bleeds and resolution.
- Ability to manipulate, create and make corrections to files as needed.
- Strong knowledge of imposition and output of files needed for multiple press types (web, sheet fed, and digital).
- Excellent ‘customer first’ service skills and ability to explain technical aspects of printing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to develop a working knowledge of print pre-flight work flow programs.
- Knowledge to Pre-Flight customer files for potential problems such as: size, color, imposition, trim/bleeds and resolution.
- Have computer skills on Mac and PC platforms.
- Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, PhotoShop, or Illustrator.
