Automotive Business Development Director

Commsignia is a leading software and hardware provider on the emerging Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2X) communication market, with a mission to increase traffic safety and efficiency on the road. As a Automotive Business Development Director of the team, you will have the opportunity to participate in the expand of the local presence and join us in the organization and process development. In this challenging role, you’ll have the room to grow personally and professionally with the team with high responsibility and independency. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
1. Buillding and maintaining presence in Germany and German speaking countries – Austria, Switzerland 

· Presence through local company 
· Managing Field Application Engineer resources in the region (long-term) 
· Serve as a first point of contact to our customers in the Automotive Industry 
· Manage Germany based service delivery with the Commsignia Field Application Engineers (FAEs), to ensure customer satisfaction 
· Participate on trade shows, demo events, etc. 
· Develop and execute country sales strategy together with Commsignia management 
· Review and improve Commsignia sales approach / process based on existing knowledge and continuously collect market feedback 
· Win OEM and Tier-1 supplier contracts, primarily focusing on automotive mass production programs. 
· Cooperate with Commsignia team members in other countries in order to successfully cover automotive supply chains spanning multiple countries that involve Commsignia products. 

2. Business development – OEM

· Engaging with OEMs (Product Development, Purchasing, R&D) to promote Commsignia software offering. 
· Coordinate and work with the R&D departments that are participating in several government/EU funded research projects for V2X, testing on deployed highway segments and collecting requirements for product development. 
· Continuous development and maintenance of client relationships, identifying needs, and in case local FAEs would be needed to be assigned. 
· Execution of business development activities to achieve results indicated in the business plan for the markets covered. 
· Relay back OEM information to Commsignia product development 
· Sale of Hardware EVKs, Software Development Licenses 
· Sale of Services: Software Customization, Hardware Development, Training, Support 
 
3. Business development - Tier-1

· Identify all major Tier-1/Tier-2 customers and propose strategy to open doors and build up the relationship for series production projects (incl smart antenna providers, ADAS/infotainment/autonomous systems developers) 
· Engaging with Tier1s (Product Development, Purchasing, R&D) to promote software offering. Most of the Tier-1s have ongoing V2X hardware development in various product flavors regarding V2X placement (smart antennas, telematics control units, ADAS fusion ECUs) 
· Sale of Hardware xEVK along with Commsignia Software, Tier-1 Platform Integration Projects and Software Licenses 
· Sale of Services: Software Customization, Hardware Development, Training, Support 

4. Business development - Deployment projects / Government

· Targeting infrastructure development companies with Commsignia Roadside Units (RSUs) and retrofitted Onboard Units (OBUs) 
· Maintaining good relationship with standardization groups, pilot sites and pilot project members 
· Identifying the appropriate partners and propose business model to be present on the market 
· Following V2X/Car2X related government activities, public tenders and managing the Commsignia bidding process 
· Participate in Commsignia product development by channeling back customer feedback / market intelligence 
 
5. Other Goals:

· Support Commsignia Marketing team to develop DACH related marketing plan, identify channels, demonstrations, etc (messages, events, demo partners, ensuring visibility, etc) 
· Support Commsignina Smart City & Smart infrastructure Channel Sales Team to find distributor / system integrator partners in DACH for Commsignia Roadside Units and Onboard Unit projects 

Requirements: 

· Minimum of 5-6 years experience in similar roles (Sales Representative, Business Developer, etc.) 
· Previous experience in the Automotive industry and/or in the IT/Telecommunications industry 
· Fluent in business & technical German and English 
· College/university degree in Business or Technology 
· General technical, IT and wireless networking knowledge 
· Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills 
· Independent, proactive, natural problem-solver 
· Resident in Germany 
· Strong team player with the resourcefulness and self-confidence to drive the business 
· Proactive working approach, ability to work individually and as a team member 
· Accurate and reliable personality who can build trust with our customers 
· Excellent self-administration and good task management 
· Willingness to travel within Germany and the EU (~30% of the time)
