Mechanical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME)

CoLab Software is looking for a Subject Matter Expert in mechanical design to join our growing team and help us position CoLab as a leader in design collaboration. This position will work closely with our leadership and product teams to navigate tools, workflows, and challenges in the mechanical design landscape. Our mission is to become not only a software solution for helping teams execute projects faster, but become an authority on collaboration in mechanical design, and this position will be tasked with helping us get there. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to work remotely.   • Have a thorough understanding of the CoLab platform
  • Have a thorough understanding of CAD, PDM and PLM solutions used in the automotive, aerospace & defense, industrial machinery & heavy equipment, and medical industries
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of Gradient product features, functions, and benefits
  • Be the go-to design/technical coach for our customers
  • Actively collaborate with the business, sales, and marketing teams in understanding industry trends and customer needs to continuously improve and optimize Gradient
  • Develop blogs, articles, and visuals on topics including but not limited to: Computer-Aided Design, Product Lifecycle Management, Design Review, and Gradient
  • Participate in developing Gradient product training materials, product literature, support documentation, and website content with the help of the business and marketing teams
  • Participate in industry trade shows and conferences as required
  • Aid CoLab in becoming a global leader in the 3D design space 

  • In-depth understanding of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modelling
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design workflows, including an in-depth understanding of Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions including but not limited to the PTC, Siemens, and Dassault Systèmes solution suites
  • Ability to think strategically and draw conclusions for decision making from a wide range of personal and professional experience
  • Highly innovative in developing solutions for problems
  • Must be a self-starter and driven by data, resulting in advanced problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills 
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required 

 This position will be open for applications until August 30, 2019, and we will interview predominantly at the end of the summer with the anticipated start date in September.
