Teaching Assistant - Berkeley


Overview:
The Teacher Assistant program is designed to give our graduates the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and gain more depth, while supporting the Dojo community. During the first half of the day, TAs are encouraged to work on their own projects, portfolio with the support of our instructors and staff. TAs are usually scheduled to work in the afternoon by supporting Instructors in a classroom via helping students, assisting with algorithms, small lectures and coding demos, all of which support the student’s growth.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support Instructors though assisting in teaching through small lectures, live demos.

• Conduct code reviews with online and/or on-site students.

• Shadow and/or support current Instructors

• Enforce the 20-minute rule.

• Frequent check-ins with students (every 20 minutes depending), to identify what students are working on, and how to support their learning.

• Create and support a fun atmosphere for learning.
