VR/AR Developer

The Role:
VR Developers are part of the emerging future of projects at Code and Theory. They will be heavily immersed in the creation of high-quality, functional applications for clients. There will be rapid prototypes in the early design phase as well as clean, production-ready products that ship. The role with work closely with graphics, 3D models, human-computer interaction, and design. The VR Developer will work very closely with the design team to identify gaps and feasibility as well as determine the shape of new creative experiences in virtual reality.

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field 
  • Experience building VR/AR experiences for ARKit, Vive, Daydream, Oculus, Gear VR, Hololens, Windows Mixed Reality, Playstation VR, and/or other major platforms with a portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills. 
  • Experience building native mobile applications on iOS and/or Android
  • Understanding of how VR/AR can be applied in a variety of circumstances 
  • Strong understanding of UX design challenges and best practices with a passion for creating new, innovative, and ground-breaking user experiences. 
  • Experience collaborating with other engineers through direct communication, version control software (Git) and issue tracking (Jira) 
  • Strong generalist/hacker spirit who tinkers with various emerging technologies 
  • Amazing attention to detail, self-motivated and collaborative with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. 
  • Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code 
  • Enthusiasm for sharing your expertise and helping others to improve their skills. 

  • Enable interactivity through motion controllers (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Microsoft Hololens, etc.) in Unreal and/or Unity environments.
  • Work with a 3D modeler and program all supporting user interactions using C++ or C# to supplement a Virtual Reality and/or Augmented Reality training experience designed for utility workers.

  • Proficient in the usage of various engines: Unreal, Unity, etc.
  • Enable interactivity through motion controllers using various industry software to add life-like interactivity to 3D environments.
  • Program interactions with on-screen 3D text.
  • 4+ years of proficient experience with C/C++/C#/Objective C or Java
  • 3D graphics programming experience with Unity, OpenGL, DirectX or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience
  • Amazing attention to detail, self-motivated and collaborative
  • Passion for creating new, innovative, and ground-breaking user experiences
  • Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
