Reporting to the COO, the Project Coordinator supports the tracking and reporting on the status of Coanda’s suite of active and forecast projects in Kimble and facilitates the generation of the necessary data to support project progress monitoring/control, project/portfolio planning, resource allocation and project evaluations (including debriefs). The position works with project managers on an ongoing basis to ensure that up-to-date project/portfolio information is available to senior management. The position supports the activities of the Project Management Office (PMO).
Through exercise of these responsibilities, the Project Coordinator will:
reduce the volume of administrative work being carried out by project managers and by science and engineering staff;
enable project managers and senior management to make informed decisions regarding the progress of their projects;
ensure that financial and other status information on projects is maintained, tracked and reported with accuracy, efficiency and timeliness;
mobilize the efforts of PMO to strengthen Coanda’s overall project management capabilities and competencies.
Duties:
Project control
Working with project managers to ensure that project status information and projections are available
Analyzing project status data and bringing anomalies to the attention of the COO
Generating project status reports, schedules, updates and projections and presenting the findings to senior management
§ Assisting project managers or their designates to establish and maintain internal project control processes (e.g., utilizing project control sheets)
PMO participation
Attend meetings of PMO
Supporting initiatives undertaken by PMO
Supporting reports and updates on the activities of PMO for presentation to senior management
PM Software
Develop expert user knowledge in adopted PM Software package and train Project Managers on use and best practices
Profile:
Experience
Proficiency with project management principles, methodologies, and software packages
Familiarity with staged-gate project life cycle
Familiarity with scientific, engineering and/or technology-based work environment
Experience in participating on project teams and assisting project managers with internal project planning, monitoring and reporting
