Cleanly is on a mission to change the way people think about laundry and dry cleaning. We’re looking for a motivated Director of Operations to help us build the launderer of the future.
In this role, you'll oversee field operations in NYC and Washington, DC. You will play a key role in developing our long term operations and growth strategy, and partner closely with Cleanly’s leadership team to build our operations playbook.
What you’ll do
Lead a complex logistical operation involving warehousing, vendors, cleaning operations, delivery drivers, and dispatchers- Be a leader in the operations team and define the strategy and roadmap for the operations
- Build & establish a strong team with a leadership pipeline; coach and develop talent within each functional area of the operations (Fulfillment, Cleaning, and Logistics)
- Be the liaison between the site operations and other functions within Headquarters, helping your team to identify the key priorities for the site
- Develop high standards for execution to meet all KPI’s & financial metrics while supporting your team in achieving daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals
- Actively coach, counsel, challenge and inspire staff to facilitate growth and development in each department of the operations
- Create a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees across all the departments in the operations to:
- Provide timely feedback to direct/indirect reports
- Drive positive change within the facilities
- Adapt to the ever-changing business needs and ensure that the team does the same
- Actively listen and accept feedback; convey ideas and/or concerns; communicate and hold operators accountable to the Cleanly brand, KPI’s, and culture.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiencies in the areas of quality, root cause corrective action, productivity, operational discipline, and staffing
- Design and implement a roadmap to achieve long-term strategic goals
- Measure the impact and efficiency of new services and business practices
- Drive continuous improvement and mitigate operational weaknesses when it comes to quality, cost, and delivery
- Report on KPIs to leadership

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or relevant field, preferably with a quantitative focus, MBA preferred but not required- 7+ years of Operations, Business Management, Supply-Chain or similar experience (e.g., hotels, shipping, warehousing, consumer goods, manufacturing) in a fast-paced environment; experience in a high-growth environment is key.
- Extremely comfortable being data-driven. You make sound business decisions through deep analytical thinking
- Experience developing teams. You have a high EQ and are able to work with, coach, and manage a diverse team
- Excellent execution skills with strong attention to detail
- A positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit. You thrive in fast-paced environments and you’re excited about taking bold action
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and communicate successfully across all levels of the organization, from the fulfillment associates to the executive team
- Bonus points if your experience includes helping build and scale a Series A stage startup through several fundraising rounds and into a large company that exited or neared IPO
