Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer position in support of the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC).   Current projects at the NASA AFRC include the X-57 ‘Maxwell’ will be the first all-electric X-plane and will be flown to validate and demonstrate the benefits that distributed electric propulsion may yield for the future of aviation and the X-59 an experimental aircraft of a commercial airliner with a unique shape and set of technologies that reduce the loudness of a sonic boom reaching the ground to that of a gentle thump.  This position requires a degree in electrical engineering and application of the knowledge of engineering technology, systems engineering concepts to the specific technical tasks, and education or experience related to instrumentation, avionics, and integration. Requires the design, documentation, environmental checkout, installation oversight, calibration, and operations of instrumentation and avionics systems. The work is highly technical in nature and requires application of scientific and engineering principals as well as the principals of systems engineering and integration. Responsibilities include: Design, documentation, environmental checkout, installation oversight, calibration, and operations; Develop electrical drawings to document new and existing systems; Provide operations and troubleshooting support as needed; and Develop test procedures for the checkout to include operations and environmental test.
