We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team on a client engagement in the Washington, DC area. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of technology-related projects across various organizations. Provides day-to-day management of all project activities for business and IT system improvements. Manages and reports project cost, schedule, and performance. Manages personnel staffing and other administrative functions to meet established performance objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Leads in the development and implementation of a comprehensive project management plan to identify activities, events and documentation key for project execution.
- Maintaining an integrated master schedule which accounts for all assigned project activities.
- Participate in the development of required programmatic documentations.
- Tracking risks and opportunities within assigned project(s), including development and implementation of mitigation plans.
- Maintaining project management quality control standards and measures by ensuring projects conform to appropriate company policy and guidance.
- Maintain constant communication with the Prime Contract Program Manager on every aspect of the engagement including system assessments, project schedule development, cost, scope, quality, etc.
- Prepare weekly status reports documenting all aspects of the project to include actions completed, actions planned and any risks or issues impacting the project.
- Lead weekly meetings with all project stakeholders to discuss project status and provide mitigation plans/guidance as needed.
- Build and maintain influential relationships with key client personnel.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining corporate functions (time reporting, policies, etc.).
- Direct and coordinate activities related to the design, development and implementation of IT software applications while ensuring end user business needs are met in software application development and delivery.
- Lead development efforts using best practice Agile and/or DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Participate meaningfully in technical conversations with customers, vendors, and internal staff concerning.
- Proactively manage a small software development team of various skill levels.
Qualifications:
- Requires a BA/BS with 10 years of experience with at least 4 years of management level responsibility.
- Experienced with frequent use and application of technical project standards, principles and theories.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Should have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of skill-sets and roles.
- Ability to proactively identify and tackle issues before they become roadblocks.
- Ability to develop & manage project plans in MS Project.
- Experience defining, generating, and reviewing project requirements documentation is required.
- Experience monitoring multiple projects to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained is required.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (nice to have)
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in design and development, five (5) years management and supervision of substantive hardware/software development, and five (5) years systems analysis
Educational & Work Qualifications:
- 4 Year degree in computer sciences, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- U.S. Citizen
