Purchasing Agent

The purchasing agent works in our purchasing department supporting both internal and external customers. The purchasing agent will work with external customers negotiating the purchasing of materials, goods and services while communicating internally to identify needs and timelines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Issue purchasing orders for all material and equipment purchased by our client.
  • Competitively price all products to ensure best pricing.
  • Negotiate price with vendors.
  • Follow up on all discrepancies with invoices.
  • Provide pricing for Estimators
  • Seek out vendors and product throughout the United States.
  • Track orders from issuance of Purchase Order to delivery.
  • Provide various costing reports.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all vendors.
  • Must work accurately and at a fast pace
  • Must be able to meet deadlines as well as work independently.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and RAM staff.
  • Excel - Advanced skill level
  • Word - Intermediate skill level
  • Adobe – Intermediate skill level
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)
  • MUST have good organizational and time management skills
  • MUST have the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a busy office environment
  • Possesses a great attitude and be a team player with the ability to plan ahead

Education, Experience & Qualifications

This position requires a minimum education level of:  Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent

Travel

Travel is infrequent for this position. Visits to our subsidiaries are required and may also include travel to customers or vendors.
