- Create and maintain a Master GA Part spreadsheet for the Future Program
- Identify material handling method for every part
- Participate in the Future Program station by station reviews
- Provide part delivery methods to support each operation.
- Identify dolly and material presentation device requirements
- Support/advise the Material Launch Manager and Plant Supply Chain group on developing the Future Program Material Plan
- Provide the LMS cell layouts to the Central Layout Group
- Hold material layout reviews with the plant
- Develop and supply the GA material storage layouts to the Central Layout Group
- Provide warehouse and high bay racking requirements
- Provide estimates for mobile equipment including dollies
- Provide material flow drawings
- Develop material routes and material manpower estimates
- Identify total number of docks required
- Develop the automated mobile equipment plan
- Incorporate other GA supporting areas into the layout (example Supplier Action Center).
- Attend GA Part Handling Forum for the Top 20 commodities (largest containers/low standard pack).
- Develop labor headcount target to actual
- Develop route planning and job element sheets for material drivers
- Provide appropriate technical skills for each one of the sections above
- Plant support through production acceleration, as required
- MUST have AutoCAD skills and experience
- MODAPTS, MTM, MOST experience is highly desired
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience required
- A minimum of 2 years experience in an Automotive / Manufacturing setting
- Direct and indirect/material handling Industrial Engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience with time and motion studies, development of standardized work, manpower estimation and standard data
- Must understand assembly manufacturing systems and demonstrate the ability to apply throughput management process techniques and assess equipment capacity
- Data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem solving skills
- Understanding of lean manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
- Proficient in all MS Office applications
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as required
