    COMPANY PROFILE:
    Since opening in 1984, this private practice has been providing the highest quality of care to residents of the Montebello area in inpatient and outpatient settings. Their fully-trained providers see walk-in patients in a clinic and perform visits on hospital patients for non-life-threatening issues.  The practice is family-owned and has a friendly, supportive culture with low turnover in their staff of more than 20 team members. They currently employ 2 physicians and 5 mid-level providers (NPs and PAs). This position is open due to growth in their inpatient area.


    POSITION DESCRIPTION:
    The new physician will work inpatient shifts at two local hospitals.  The exact schedule and rotation between the hospitals is flexible/negotiable.

    The patient demographics are diverse and includes individuals discharged from skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), adult foster homes, and board and care homes.  They also serve the homeless population and see a high percentage of Spanish-speaking patients (interpreters are available).

    Units covered include med/surg, ICU, and telemetry.  It does NOT include sub-acute units.

    Round on 17 to 20 patients per day, working with a dedicated physician assistant (PA).  Physicians dictate their notes to increase efficiency and allow more time to focus on patients.

    The same PA will work Monday-Friday alongside the physician, with a different PA working weekend shifts - physicians only work weekends every 1-2 months.  There is also a third PA reserved as back-up support, in the event a hospital becomes busier than expected.

    There are always clinical assistants and/or RNs available to support the physicians and PAs.

    The hospitals utilize the AllScripts EHR.

    On-call is shared evenly among the group's providers and can be flexibly scheduled.  Physicians rarely (if ever) have to go into the hospital, as PAs provide that type of on-call coverage.  Typically, physicians only provide phone triage on weeknights.


    REQUIREMENTS:
    - California medical license
    - DEA
    - Board Certified or Eligible, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
