    COMPANY PROFILE:
This multi-site organization has been providing healthcare and human services to Los Angeles’ Chinese community for more than 20 years.  During that time, they have expanded to become the largest community-based organization of their type in Southern California.  They currently employ 6 physicians and a large staff of mid-level providers (physician assistants and nurse practitioners), who are supported by a dedicated team of clinical and administrative staff, as well as attentive management.  In addition to a wide variety of social services and immigrant support services, they have robust offerings in the areas of medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare.  They are currently hiring due to growth.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The new physician will work with a majority Chinese-speaking (Cantonese, Mandarin, Toisan, Chiu Chow) patient population.  While there is a preference for the physician to speak a Chinese dialect, the majority of staff are fluent, so interpreters are available when needed.

This is a standard outpatient primary care position in a community health center.  The practice can accommodate either an internal medicine or family practice patient population.

Physicians see an average of 15 patients per day with a dedicated clinical assistant.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

    - provide a full spectrum of outpatient primary care
    - record patient histories
    - perform or request diagnostic tests and make diagnoses
    - prescribe appropriate treatment
    - administer vaccinations
    - perform follow-up examinations
    - educate patients in disease prevention and health maintenance
    - provide individual patient instructions in accordance with treatment plans
    - prepare medical records, clinical reports, and correspondence
    - supervise allied health professionals, such as nurses, PAs, and medical assistants

The clinic uses the NextGen EHR system.

There are occasional, low volume on-call duties that are scheduled flexibly.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    - California medical license
    - DEA
    - Board Certified or Eligible, Family Practice or Internal Medicine
    - Chinese language skills strongly preferred (any dialect)
