Teaching Assistant

We are seeking teaching assistants (TAs) trained in Functional Medicine and ancestral nutrition and lifestyle principles for ADAPT Health Coach Training Program. You will be responsible for facilitating learning and reinforcing content presented in the Functional Health track of the course. The Functional Health track includes topics such as:
  • Paleo template nutrition basics
  • Personalizing Paleo (macro ratios, meal frequency, and timing, considerations for athletes, women, etc.)
  • Customizing diet/lifestyle/behavior for particular health conditions
  • Basic supplementation
  • Physical activity
  • Stress management
  • Sleep
  • Environmental toxins  

In addition to the Functional Health track, the program also includes tracks on core coaching skills and professional development. 

Primary Duties
  • Host Q&A sessions with students enrolled in the exposome module
  • Guide and assist students individually or in small groups in mastering concepts taught in the program
  • Facilitate and lead (where appropriate) discussion amongst students to promote interactive and experiential learning
  • Work closely with the program’s Mentor Coaches to guide students in integrating core coaching skills with Functional Health expertise
  • Review and grade homework assignments

Job Requirements
  • Demonstrate mastery of Functional Medicine principles
  • Demonstrate mastery of ancestral health and nutrition practices, inclusive of physical activity, stress transformation, sleep, pleasure, play, and social connection
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for students to gain confidence in their knowledge and practical use of material being presented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to express yourself with clarity, professionalism, and proper grammar
  • Complete online office setup that includes a newer computer, with a camera, along with a fast and reliable internet connection

Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in nutrition or dietetics (e.g. RD, CNS, CNC, etc.)
  • Previous experience and training in a teaching or teaching assistant role
  • Be a role model and walk the talk of an ancestral lifestyle

Time Commitment
  • This position is a part-time, hourly position requiring approximately 4–5 hours per week to start. As the program continues to grow, the number of available hours could also increase if you have additional availability. 
  • You need to have availability during the day, as well as evening, and possibly at odd times to accommodate our international students 

  • You will be paid as a part-time independent contractor at a rate of $75/hour.
