Millwright Journeyman performs a variety of complicated machine installation and/or demolition activities and related tasks at many different customer locations according to specified Scope of Work as provided by the customer. Position requires ability to travel. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. OSHA 10 certification is preferred. Ability and certification to weld steel and aluminum is optional.
Work Performed:
Installs and /or demolishes machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments. Must be experienced in using hoists, lift trucks hand tools and power tools.
Must efficiently read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Dismantles machines, conveyors, and related equipment using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools. Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
Assembles and installs food, beverage and packaging systems and related equipment, conveyors, and tram rails as an example, using hand tools and power tools. Must be able to construct foundation for machines and bolt, weld, rivet or otherwise fastens then to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.
Ability to operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. May be required to repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
Ability to install and/or modify a wide variety of equipment for high speed automated packing production lines. Will perform complete installation and or demolition activities as par of a team of skilled trades workers with minimum supervision.
Perform other related duties incidental to the responsibilities described herein. Must have a valid drivers license.
