Canstar are on the look out for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Manager to join or technology team. What you will be doing:
Website Stability
- Monitor all mission-critical Canstar systems, ensuring that they are operational and highly available
- Act upon infrastructure issues- assigning an SRE to resolve any issues, assisting where needed and communicate expected downtimes and estimated resolution time to key stakeholders
- Produce a post-incident review of any infrastructure issues reporting on causes, solutions and implemented strategies to prevent reoccurrences
Security
- Management of day-to-day network security, security projects and security incident management- provide reporting and documentation where relevant
Team Leadership
- Work to ensure that the Canstar SRE Team is cohesive, highly engaged and highly regarded across the organisation
- Oversee the employment experience and professional development of all SRE team members
- Individually engage with team members on a regular basis to ensure team and individual objectives are being met, workload is manageable and any blockers or issues are being addressed
Project Management
- Undertake strategic technology infrastructure planning and budgeting
- Prepare business cases, proposals and project documentation for the consideration of the executive team
- Oversee projects to ensure delivery is on time within budget and resourced accordingly. Engaging with project stakeholders to keep across objectives, blockers and project changes
- Work alongside the Chief Architect to ensure long-term strategic technology plan is on track and that the work of the SRE team is assisting in fulfilling the vision
Industry Awareness and Involvement
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends and attend industry-specific events and networking opportunities with Canstar’s strategic vision in mind
What you need to bring to the role
- A tertiary qualification in engineering or IT
- Prior experience in a programming, Dev Ops or SRE role
- Previous experience managing a technical team with a high level of emotional intelligence to understand how to get the best out of your team
- Experience with Public Cloud Providers: AWS or GCP
- Project management skills: managing resources, budgets and timelines on high-stake, key business projects
- Preference for working in a fast-paced working environment
What will give you the extra edge
- Demonstrated levels of business acumen: having an understanding of the importance of successful stakeholder management while working on cross-functional projects
- Previous experience in a FinTech environment will be highly regarded
- Experience working in an agile environment
