Staff Accountant

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our San Francisco based finance team. You’ll have spent at least three to six years sharpening your skills so you can take ownership over finance related activities that will facilitate the smooth running of our San Francisco and New York Studios.

Accounting / Compliance
  • Perform month-end close procedures and ensure financials are in accordance with IFRS
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Review semi-monthly payroll to ensure timely and accurate submission of data
  • Manage employees focused on the accounting functions (AR, AP, Expense Reports, Payroll, etc.)
  • Provide oversight, guidance and mentorship over junior team members in respect to accounting policies and procedures
  • Communicate with clients regarding invoice status and payment matters
  • Prepare monthly accrual, fixed asset, prepayment and intangible/tangible schedules including supporting calculations to create monthly journal entries
  • Travel program management
  • Credit card program management
  • Oversee internal and external audits

Financial Planning
  • Assist the Group Director of Finance in preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecasts
  • Liaise with the client teams to maintain accurate live revenue forecasts

Reporting
  • Prepare monthly P&L account analysis to support management reports and provide details with respect to the activity in the P&L accounts
  • Provide parent (Next Fifteen Communications) with timely reports, not limited to weekly cash forecast, monthly commentaries and ICO invoices
  • Prepare weekly cash forecasts
  • Assist with various analysis and ad hoc projects

What you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar
  • 3 to 6 years of private sector and/or fast pace agency experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to execute tasks, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Path towards a CPA preferred
