Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Terrific opportunity for a marketing leader with food/CPG experience. We are looking for a Vice President of Marketing and Communications at an early stage, rapidly growing health food company. Based in NYC, the brand’s products are sold in more than 10,000 stores, doubling revenue in each of the last three years. Reporting to the CEO, the position will be responsible for building and managing the entire marketing operation of the company, with a focus on digital/social, sampling and partnerships. The VP will lead and implement content strategy, develop relationships and create messaging and customer communications. The position will also manage external agencies and handle PR initiatives. The VP will manage an existing Director of Marketing and build a team over time. Successful candidates will have 7+ years of relevant experience in food/CPG. Must be a strong communicator, a digital expert and a content creator. Candidates should have experience building marketing teams and managing external agencies. Experience in a start-up or early stage company is preferred. Salary + Equity potential.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the marketing operation of the business
- Establish ideal customer targets and develop appropriate messaging and content
- Partner with external agencies to develop strategies for web, social, digital
- Establish and maintain a consistent brand image across platforms
- Lead social media initiatives
- Manage PR relationships
- Build and lead a Marketing team over time
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Communications preferred
- 7+ years of relevant food/CPG experience
- Experience building and managing a team
- Agency management experience
- Field marketing experience
- Relationships in PR
- Start-up or early stage experience preferred
