Terrific opportunity for a Vice President, Finance (VP, Finance) with a rapidly growing social services nonprofit in NYC with a current budget of approximately $70 million. The VP, Finance will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and have oversight of the overall strategic financial leadership, goals, objectives, and controls of the organization. The position will lead the finance team, manage the budgeting process (operating and capital), and protect the financial assets of the organization. Candidates must have 10+ years of relevant nonprofit experience. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute key strategic financial approaches
  • Work with CEO, COO and other members of the Executive team to develop long range financial strategy and regular KPIs
  • Lead and support organizational budget process
  • Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities
  • Design, develop and implement financial policies, practices, procedures and controls
  • Work collaboratively with CEO and COO to ensure that the organization is financially sustainable and accountable to key stakeholders
  • Direct, administer and maintain fiscal controls and/or activities across the organization
  • Oversee all tax associated transactions
  • Interact with Federal, State, and City government financial authorities, as necessary
  • Directly supervise the Finance team
  • Other duties as requested

Requirements:
  • MBA with a concentration in Finance and/or CPA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years related work experience within non-profit is required
  • Budgeting, cash flow management, forecasting and financial analysis experience with multiple funders required
  • GAAP knowledge and expertise
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with Board members and managing board relations is required
  • Proven successful track record of building, motivating and mentoring high-performing professionals
  • Extremely high reliability and integrity
  • Flexibility in working interdepartmentally
  • Works well under tight deadlines
