Job Overview
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for charting and executing strategies for Branch’s adherence  to  statutory policies, processes and procedures. You will be working with several stakeholders within the organisation to provide guidance on compliance matters and regulatory requirements. You will also be fostering and maintaining relationships with financial regulatory bodies and all regulatory stakeholders relevant to our business.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Be responsible for the company’s strategic communication with all regulatory bodies. 
  • Provide internal & external audit support for the company, manage responses to internal audit and enquiries from external regulatory bodies.
  • Working with our legal counsel and others to design appropriate procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and implementing procedures 
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory guidance, rules, and regulations applicable to Branch
  • Prepare and present clear and concise compliance reports to Leadership 
  • Provide guidance, advice, and/or training and educational programs, to improve business' understanding of applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Has delegated authority for decision making around risk and compliance matters, and is accountable for working with relevant teams to define policies, systems and practices and provide and/or arranges for training and guidance for effective management
  • Develop internal audit/compliance tools (paperwork, checklist, standards, audit report templates, internal control survey questionnaires, physical counts, tools/checklist etc.)
  • Responsible for statutory compliance in collaboration with Branch’s Legal c
  • Minimise non-compliance and legal risk to the organization and drive strategies to close out gaps
  • Reviews and tests controls to ensure that Branch’s in-country systems are compliant with Branch’s global policies as well as local laws
  • Advise on prompt preparation and submission of all statutory returns, reports and tax compliance. 
 



Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or higher business degree in a relevant discipline. 
  • Relevant qualification/certification 
  • Minimum of five (5)  years in regulatory compliance with organisations in  financial services industry  
  • Experience in managing relationships and communication with financial regulators such as the CBN
  • High ethical and moral standards of integrity
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer banking laws/regulations especially as it relates to the fintech industry
  • Ability to analyse, interpret data, and provide guidance regarding banking laws/regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with accounting systems required.
  • Proven ability to influence activity at a senior level, taking initiative and working independently as well work as a team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal English) and the ability to write and present clear, concise reports.
  • Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable with ambiguity and taking initiative
  •  Excellent collaborator and team player and can manage several stakeholders to achieving results
