Jr. Staff Accountant

  • Uphold Boochcraft’s company values while representing the Company with enthusiasm and confidence.
  • Record expenses to correct GL accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports
  • Review invoices and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval
  • Prepares federal and state compliance filings including excise taxes and brewers report of operations
  • Maintain master data listings including customers / vendors and related compliance filings
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger and prepares monthly depreciation expense entry
  • Record and reconcile retail tasting room activity
  • Prepare month-end accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Ensure a safe workplace.
  • Maintain a professional work environment that fosters a collaborative team spirit with respect for each individual.
  • Manage the details of the Company’s CapEx budget, subject to approval by the CEO and COO.
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Quickbooks including, but not limited to, the ability to generate, read and understand a Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet, as well as other financial reports and data entry.
  • Maintain all financial and administrative duties in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), categorizing, inputting and paying invoices, depositing all incoming revenue, reconciling multiple bank accounts and credit card accounts monthly, tracking all loan payments and running bi-weekly payroll.
  • Generate and send weekly financial reports.
  • Maintain periodic (monthly and yearly) reporting and updated licensing and permitting for a variety of state and federal government agencies including, but limited to, The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), as well as all other licenses that include certifications from Quality Assurance International (QAI) and 1% For the Planet.
  • Prepare for any regulatory audits.
  • Responsible for applying for new licenses including Certificate of Label Approval (COLA) and any other required licensing for new states the Company enters.
  • Complete all applications for new accounts.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies.
  • Familiarize new staff with Expensify (the Company’s expense tracking software),
  • Keep a running spreadsheet of employee reimbursements for each pay-period.
  • Be the main point of contact for all employees with questions about any work-related issues. 
  • Answer phone calls and emails from the general public. 
  • Help customers who come to the brewery to purchase Boochcraft.  
  • Input and track retail sales from brewery and farmer’s markets using the Square application.
  • Responsible for understanding all software/technology systems and learning new ones as applicable. Always on the lookout for areas where the company can improve.
  • Continue his/her education as needed to fill gaps in technical and managerial knowledge.
