What we’ll need from you:
A good background in applied computer science and ideally some recent commercial programming experience. You’ll be a self-motivated, proactive problem-solver who loves technology. Enthusiasm for automation in various forms with a desire to dive deep into new problems as well as engage with them at a conceptual level. An excellent communicator enabling you to make a valuable contribution in a dynamic, stimulating, and collaborative environment.
What you’ll get involved in:
- Developing state-of-the-art back-end services for our industry-leading AR SaaS platform (Go, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, GRPC, GraphQL, AWS)
- Applying your ingenuity to address scalability, availability and integrity problems proactively; going to great lengths to avoid surprises, so that the team can concentrate on high-value work under the best conditions
- Mentoring, but also learning from, our Site Reliability Engineers as we continue to move the department in a more software-focussed direction
- Tracking developments across a wide range of fields and applying this knowledge to current and future projects

You must have:
- BS/MS/PhD in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering)
- Minimum of 2 years Comercial Go programming experience
- Knowledge of UNIX[-like] systems; especially Linux
- Expert scripting language experience, like python, perl or bash
- Experience developing web services, with extensive knowledge of HTTP
- A passion for writing and refactoring clean, high-quality, testable code
- Strong CI pipeline experience
Ideally you’ll have:
- C/C++ or Java programming experience
- Experience with GRPC, GraphQL, MySQL and MongoDB
- Knowledge of UNIX[-like] systems; especially Linux
- Experience/knowledge of large scale distributed systems
- Knowledge/experience of machine learning a plus
