We are currently looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who will help our team manage information transfer from our engineering teams to our purchasing and manufacturing teams. This person is a precision-oriented professional with the ability to work cross functionally between departments and to have an understanding of fabrication techniques and resources to determine make or buy decisions with costs and production timelines in mind.
The primary function and role will be to review conceptual drawings and determine how to make them into reality while following best manufacturing practices with an understanding of the materials and fabrication capacity on hand to meet manufacturing timelines. The duties will also include supporting manufacturing with SolidWorks CAD interpretation, BOM review, as-built drawings, ECR and ECO processing.
This position’s role includes:
Collaboration with the engineering, purchasing and manufacturing teams.
Review of “Released to Production” engineering drawings and content for best practices.
Receive, review and answer SolidWorks CAD drawing question from manufacturing.
Recommend appropriate design for manufacturing changes using ECR and ECO processes.
Maintain “as designed” vs “as built” updates using ECR and ECO processes.
Work with all the teams to coordinate and facilitate equipment design changes.
Help manage the transition of information to new PLM and MRP/ERP systems over time.
