Job Description: The developer will work on a "tiger team" to assist with standing up a parallel web/DB application to the core system in support of the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC). The program examines and analyzes attacks on US ground vehicles worldwide to identify enemy attack weapons systems, their employment and lethal effects, and recommends measures to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect US and allied personnel.
The qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to, under minimal direction, design, develop, implement, and maintain complex custom programs for web-based database applications.
Software Development responsibilities:
*Assist in the development and deployment of web and database applications capable of generating stand-alone reporting as well as coordination with a master database.
*Prepare test scenarios for quality assurance testing of developed software and perform unit, integration and deployment testing of software.
Data management responsibilities:
*Extract raw data from the database using SQL, query, and/or XML.
*Use data analysis tools and provide assistance with data analysis of extracted data.
*The insertion of data from sources including Oracle exports, XML, MS Access, MS Excel, and dbf files using MS Access, Oracle SQL Loader, and other Oracle data import utilities into the master Oracle database.
Responsibilities also include:
*Analyzing detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
*Working with users to define existing or new system scope objectives.
*Performing modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
*Assisting users in the operation of the application.
*Serving as team leader and providing guidance to less experienced staff.
*Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent.
*Ten to twelve years of related experience.
*Candidate must possess current CompTIA Security+ certification.
*Oracle; XML; PL/SQL SQL, MS Access; PHP, Java in UNIX or MS Windows.
*Experience in systems analysis techniques, concepts and methods, and knowledge of available system software, computer equipment, and open system architecture preferred. *Experience with portable device application development (cell phone, PDA, etc)
