Senior Planning Manager

This position will work closely with the Manufacturing, Sales, Ecommerce and Design teams. BY is a very collaborative startup like environment and this role plays a critical role in helping maintain our growth and profitability.

Looking for a leader and team player that can work independently and takes pride in what they create.  Seeking entrepreneurial, self-starting Senior Planning Manager with experience leading inventory planning, merchandising and forecasting for a wholesale and ecommerce business. Ideal candidate will have effective cross functional communication and collaboration, ability to create and implement process and possess excellent excel skills with competence to create the forecasting tools necessary for top down/bottoms up SKU level forecasts and analysis. You should be analytical with strong excel and math skills but balanced with insight into trends and have a passion for the retail industry.  This position will report directly to the COO while working consistently with other teams. You will work collaboratively to help guide the assortment and convey your opinion on the direction of the line. What you'll do:

As a Merchandise & Planning Manager, you’ll be a leading Key Analysis of fabric, finished goods, merchandise assortment, sku planning, inventory management and more. 

Demand/Inventory Planning
  • Lead the finished goods and raw material demand forecasts for the company based on company financial targets, sales history, market trends and account sell-through data
  • Plan seasonal fabric buys to ensure that adequate fabric quantities are purchased to meet both wholesale and ecommerce demands by product delivery dates
  • Flow finished goods and raw material needs on a time phased basis to maximize sales, limit liabilities and create cash flow efficiencies
  • Partner with Production team to ensure all demand needs are met
  • Manage cut log for out all non-seasonal cuts (smus, core)
  • Analyze/issue all cut requests by size based on sales order/ projections and historical selling by size
  • Work cross-functionally with both Manufacturing and Sales to create priorities and new ship dates when there are shortages
  • Partner with Customer Service on order management to ensure uncovered orders are being addressed and to maintain a clean order file
  • Create and manage ATS by subdivision
  • Manage and monitor core stock levels to ensure we have timely ATS
  • Leverage inventory between Ecommerce and Wholesale departments to maximize sales opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement in our forecasting processes
  • Analyze and communicate inventory risks and opportunities
  • Partner with Ecommerce department to ensure buys align with Marketing strategies

Merchandise Planning
  • Create Seasonal Sales plans by Subdivision to achieve overall company financial objectives
  • Work with Sales and Production teams to determine pricing/costing to ensure structure aligns with company margin goals
  • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities
  • Create and provide seasonal SKU plans based on historical selling and overall company SKU productivity goals
  • Analyze assortment mix to ensure the merchandise offering aligns with financial targets
  • Compile/analyze and communicate seasonal hindsighting to key cross functional partners to drive future merchandising and planning strategies

Sales/Account Planning
  • Manage the development of annual and seasonal retail sales & receipt plans for planned accounts
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive financial and product strategies for planned accounts
  • Compile/analyze historic performance and planned strategies to identify areas of opportunity or risk
  • Develop, maintain and update tools, reports, etc to support the needs of the business
  • Provide ad hoc reporting on business performance
  • Partner with Sales department on building in season ATS based on existing orders and feedback from Market
  • Manage monthly account-level open-to-buy activities
