The Assistant Project Manager/Estimator will assist the Project Management team in all aspects/phases of construction including:
- Coordination and tracking of plans and permitting process
- Review of architectural and engineering drawings for completeness
- Assisting in the preparation of contract agreements
- Coordination and preparation of construction agreement exhibits
- Review/negotiation of subcontractor’s cost estimates, and Proposed Change Orders/Change Orders
- Review and monitoring of construction schedule and daily construction activities
- Ensuring compliance with construction standards and selections
- All responsibilities associated with supporting the Construction Manager and daily management of a construction project to close out, including but not limited to procurement and coordination of Owner/Developer furnished furniture and equipment
- Ability to communicate/direct effectively with developers and subcontractors
- Ability to review plans and coordinate with consultants for code compliance and completeness
- Estimating and Scheduling skills is a must
The ideal candidate will possess:
- High school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university within the construction, engineering, or business concentrations strongly preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with an interiors commercial general contractor
- Ability to master project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Procore, Adobe, Bluebeam, Accounting software
Responsibilities:
- Assist in a broad range of activities associated with pre-designed, design, pre-construction, construction (including all phasing), closeout, occupancy, and warranty
- Assist in enforcement for multiple complex and multi-faceted new construction, renovations, and modernization projects
- Plans, organizes, coordinates and reports the project management activities of multiple ongoing projects
- Coordinates/assists in all aspects of project activities with Project team, subcontractors, suppliers, city & state officials, construction managers, owner representatives, end users, owners, clients etc.
- Assist as project liaison on all matters related to project design, construction and closeout
- Assist in the collection, preparation, input and management of project tracking software for multiple projects
- Assist in other duties and responsibilities that may be required as it related to project management
