Marketing Strategy Internship: “Made in the Berkshires”
North Adams, Massachusetts
Lever is seeking an entrepreneurial intern to evaluate establishing an official “Made in the Berkshires” designation for products and services that originate in Berkshire County. The successful candidate will research best practices in provenance branding, develop recommendations for establishing a “Made in the Berkshires” brand, and will report their findings to key stakeholders and policymakers.
Lever is a non-profit business incubator with an economic development mission. We have hosted more than 30 student interns to help us perform research that guides our strategy. Previously, Lever interns have validated the importance of “Berkshire brand” to the regional economy.
“Berkshire” is commonly incorporated into the names of organizations and companies in the region, but also by companies not located here. Could and should the Berkshire brand be restricted? Would this benefit existing Berkshire County companies? Would it help attract new companies to the region? Would an official Berkshire brand help support tourism here? These are some of the key questions our Marketing Strategy Intern will help address.
The successful applicant will receive $440 per week to work 40 hours per week on this ten-week long project. We seek team players who are goal-oriented and interested in supporting the regional economy. Applicants should have strong research, organizational and writing skills. They should be comfortable engaging with and presenting their findings to experts and community leaders.
Interested students should submit a resume and cover letter no later than April 15th, 2018.
