The Berkshire Eagle – Page Design Internship
The Berkshire Eagle is a locally owned newspaper that serves the Berkshire region with print and web products. We seek a Page Design Intern to work in our Visuals and News Design Department.
The Berkshire Eagle is renowned for its use of visual materials, especially digital information including photographs, video, illustrations and cartoons.The successful candidate will help with selection and editing, especially photography and video materials. The intern will support the work of the News Design Department, report to the Managing Editor of Presentation, and help uphold the Eagle’s reputation for excellence in design.
This is a very fast-paced position and requires the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Experience with InDesign is preferred. Knowledge of Quark and Photoshop is helpful. Proofreading skills are a must.
We seek a Page Design Intern who is eager to learn and ready to contribute. We encourage students who are majoring in journalism or who work at their college or university newspapers to apply. Applicants should include a visuals portfolio, a cover letter explaining why you want the position, and a resume. This paid internship lasts 10 weeks during the summer, starting June 12 and concluding August 17, 2018. Wages shall be $440 per week, full-time. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2018. Selection will be made by April 1, 2018.
