LTI - Management Consulting Internship
LTI is a state of the art glass manufacturing center located in Pittsfield, MA. We make advanced technical glass products for a variety of applications, including decorative, privacy and security. LTI has designed and manufactured glass for the new Sandy Hook Elementary School, the Freedom Tower, Air Force One and many more.
While LTI’s national and international markets are growing, we are continually challenged by competitors, complex market forces and unexpected events. We seek a summer intern who wishes to help us address such challenges.
The successful candidate will help define problems, research solutions, propose strategic changes, and help implement those changes as needed . The LTI summer intern will receive a broad exposure to all facets of LTI’s operations, including material procurement, inventory management, product fabrication, quality control, performance testing, marketing, and new product development. The intern will be paired with project managers and members of the leadership team, who will share their experience, knowledge and insights.
The Management Consulting summer internship at LTI is an exciting opportunity for a student eager to engage in creative problem solving, data analysis, critical thinking, risk assessment and risk taking. The intern will be supported by like-minded LTI staff and by LTI’s innovation-oriented culture. Applicants should be strong in writing, science and math. They should have standard computer skills, strong communication skills, and leadership experience.
Trainees are required to attend an unpaid Berkshire Business Interns boot-camp, a 3-day, 2 night immersive career readiness training retreat starting at 10am Saturday, June 9th, and concluding at noon on Monday, June 11th. The bootcamp includes programming to help trainees succeed at their summer internship, fun social events, plus free lodging and meals. It will be held in North Adams, Massachusetts.
Compensation is $600 per week for 10 weeks. The LTI summer internship begins on Tuesday, June 12th and concludes on Friday, August 17th. Work hours are 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Attire is business casual, or worksafe clothing, depending on task assignment.
