Behavior Consultant

BehaviorWorks is a provider of ABA Autism Intervention and Medicaid Waiver Behavior Support Service for the greater Indianapolis Area. We help people to improve the present and create their future; taking action for positive change through the science of applied behavior analysis. 

The Behavioral Consultant provides best practice functional assessment and behavior support plan development to support families and individuals in the greater Indianapolis area. The consultant provides behavior analytic assessment and trains the family and staff on the implementation of the support plan, meets with team members and supports findings with data. 

To be eligible for this position, you must be willing to see clients after school hours 3-6, be trained in Applied Behavior Analysis, and have a diligent and dedicated work ethic. 

Job Requirements/ Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Minimum two years experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Demonstrated competency in the development, implementation and oversight of functional behavior assessment, professional consultation services, and behavior plan writing, data collection systems, developing a plan for reduction and replacement of the targeted 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and problem solving skills
  • Writing sample to demonstrate core communication skills / abilities
  • IN Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and auto insurance 
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of therapy services (must be able to walk, run, bend, lift, reach, stoop, and kneel and lift at least 35 lbs.)
  • Willingness to commute to the home of our clients


Job Duties/ Responsibilities 

  • Collect baseline data, design programs, and train the family and support staff on the program specifically designed for each client
  • Integrate ABA knowledge to develop social skills, play skills, language skills, attention skills, and self-help skills
  • Assist the clinical team in demonstration of skills and techniques to parents as part of the parent training transfer of knowledge
  • Provide best-practice ABA services for the clients served 
  • Accept specific feedback from the Company on performance in employee-client interaction, which may be conducted via web-camera, videotape, or video-conferencing and in vivo 
  • Keep to appointments and the time scheduled to the best of employee's ability
  • Adhere to high standards of professional behavior, including behavioral discussions grounded in scientific and professionally derived knowledge
  • Accept supervision by the Company for the specific client (s) being served
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with the guidelines for responsible conduct and all applicable legal regulations
  • Adhere to the Guidelines for Responsible Conduct for Behavior Analysts issued by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board  ("BACB"), giving particular attention to sections 1 through 6 as they relate to conduct, responsibility to clients, and assessing behavior; the BACB’s Professional Disciplinary and Ethical Standards; and all other professional standards subsequently issued or modified by the BACB
  • Comply with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of behavior analytic services and the home, school and community model of service delivery
  • Report any abuse and neglect in the protection of children and adults with developmental disabilities, as required by law 
  • Keep current all licenses and certifications applicable to behavior analytic services, including but not limited to BCBA certification and any required by federal and state laws
  • Comply with the requirements contained in the Company's Employee Handbook and Operations Manual
  • This position reports directly to the Community Support Supervisor
