About this role
As a product analyst at Basis One, your role will have many similarities with product analytics roles at a leading tech companies. You’ll develop a deep understanding of businesses and drive better decision making through data. You’ll work with an exceptional team on really hard problems, such as how to balance marketplace supply and demand, and how to drive increased user retention and engagement.
However at Basis One, you’ll also be expected to ramp up quickly on new industries and business models, and we’ll support that education however we can. Everyone on the team has high autonomy and flexibility, and most of our clients are based in the bay area, so travel is limited.

Responsibilities
- Turn unstructured questions into structured analyses and explorations to unpack them
- Analyze client data in SQL, statistical languages, and BI tools like Tableau
- Visualize and dashboard findings to allow the broader team to understand and use data to power decision making
- Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations and present to clients and the internal team
- Work side by side with client teams as a thought partner
- In some cases, embed entirely into client teams on special projects

Must-have qualifications
- 2-6 years working in analytics, data science, or a similarly quantitative role
- Proficiency using SQL to query large data sets
- Strong analytical problem solving skills and ability to identify and synthesize insights from analysis
- Strong business judgement and ability to separate signal from noise
- Basic exposure to statistics and experimentation
Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Proficiency in experimentation, statistics, and statistical languages such as R or Python/Pandas
- Prior experience in consumer tech
