Brand Partnerships and Ad Sales

We are looking for a strategic, high-energy go-getter to join our team as an Account Manager - Brand Partnerships and Ad Sales. The role will report to the CRO at Backstage, and will work closely with the marketing team. You will be tasked with developing new partnerships and growing existing relationships across the business. 

The Gig:
  • Ideate and execute sales plan for direct sales to brands and agencies
  • Strategize creative opportunities for sponsored content partnerships with consumer-facing businesses 
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop new products and channels for sales and sponsorship
  • Develop deep knowledge of client organizational charts and key decision makers
  • Build a strategic selling framework, from planning marketing initiatives through pitch and close
  • Build trusted relationships with current clients, and identify new value-added solutions to grow existing accounts
  • Prospect and drive new partnerships from identification through qualification and close
  • Effectively pitch prospective clients via creative, thorough, and engaging presentations
  • Execute high-volume activity through cold calls, RFPs, and client meetings
  • Maintain strong follow-up process
  • Lead business meetings with decision makers, including C-suite executives
  • Track and report upon sales activity and other key metrics
  • Promptly respond to inbound inquiries 

About you:
  • Strategic, creative, and resourceful; you are able to generate thoughtful, outside-the-box solutions 
  • Autonomous and self-driven; you are competitive, and enjoy the challenge of prospecting and closing new deals
  • Organized, analytical, and process-focused 
  • A high energy, positive, and collaborative team-player 


Requirements:
  • 3+ years of consultative sales experience in the ad sales space
  • Demonstrated record of meeting and/or exceeding sales targets 
  • Experience prospecting, pitching, and closing new business partnerships; experience with deal negotiation a plus! 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Technically-savvy; able to navigate social platforms and internet with easy
  • BA/BS in relevant discipline required
  • Within a reasonable commute to Brooklyn, NY
