Avalanche Studios is the original creator of the award-winning Just Cause franchise (published by Square Enix), the developer of Mad Max (published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) and is currently working on Rage 2 (published by Bethesda Softworks), scheduled for release in 2019. As a publisher, Avalanche Studios has brought free-to-play service theHunter Classic to market and reached more than 7 million registered players across 190 countries. The theHunter franchise was expanded in 2017 to also include premium title theHunter: Call of the Wild, which was released for PC and subsequently console platforms. Avalanche Studios, which is based in Stockholm, New York City and Malmö, was founded in 2003 by Christofer Sundberg and Linus Blomberg. The studio develops games using its proprietary Apex technology, enabling huge open worlds filled with emergent gameplay.
We are looking for passionate and highly motivated technical lead for our new studio in Malmö. As the Technical Lead you will take a key role in making sure we can deliver our game on time and at the high quality our players are used to and expect.
You will lead and assist your programming team with practical day to day issues while working closely with other discipline leads and production to make sure we develop the right solutions at the right ambition level for our game. You will also take an active role in design reviews and code reviews to ensure an appropriate quality level.
Together with your programming team you will set and maintain our memory and performance budgets. Overall technical quality of the title will be your responsibility and we will give you all the tools and support needed to accomplish this!
As you will work on a wide range of different game aspects we see the perfect candidate having a couple of years practical experience from different areas of game development as well as experience from working as a technical lead or technical director.

- A strong passion for making fun and immersive games
- Prior experience from working as a lead on at least one shipped title on current-gen consoles.
- A strong technical background with at least 8 years professional experience in C/C++ programming

- Extensive knowledge in software development methods
- Experience from working with open world games
