Internal Support Engineer

An Internal Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support internally to the AtlanticBT family, as well as initial support to customers by email, phone and ticketing systems.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Systems Management
    • Setting up computers for new hires
    • Cleaning up computers from departed employees
    • Preparing computers for temporary usage
    • Maintaining internal computers, laptops, devices and peripherals for employees
    • Troubleshooting hardware/software problems in PCs, laptops and Macs
    • Maintaining antivirus systems, acting on antivirus reports
    • Managing PBX, soft phones, and hard phones
  • Technical Support Responsibilities
    • Answer support phone calls in a professional manner
    • Respond to support email requests in a professional manner
    • As part of a regular rotation, respond to after hours support requests
    • Respond to, update and escalate tickets
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Document procedures
    • Inventory hardware
    • Manage software licenses
    • Process requisitions
    • Assist Web Hosting Engineers with tasks and projects on an as needed basis
    • Assist Office Manager with tasks and projects on an as needed basis
    • Respond to various requests for event set up and clean up, as well as other various tasks on an as-needed basis

Qualifications:
  • Understanding of basic network security principles
  • Dependable and professional
  • Positive, self-motivated, quick learner
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to recognize tasks that need to be completed and willingness to take responsibility for them

Nice to have:
  • VOIP administration experience
  • Active Directory experience
  • G Suite experience
  • SAMBA / File Sharing Management
  • DHCP / DNS experience
  • Intermediate IP Network Administration (subnetting, routing, troubleshooting)
  • Network troubleshooting

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This job requires routine desk and computer work.  No travel is required.
