We are looking for a Project Engineer to work on a commercial space buildout in the Atlanta area. We are negotiating a second store soon to start in the Atlanta vicinity. We might also have similar work coming up soon in Miami Beach.
Our construction company is currently involved in two types of work: shell & concrete for a school project South of Miami, and retail store buildouts in Atlanta.
In an ideal world, the candidates' skillset should add value to both environments, and they should also be available to begin work in Atlanta and then relocate to Miami. Retail improvements in malls is very demanding with respect to not interfering with mall operations, safety, cleanliness and care of relationships. These projects tend to be short (4 months on average) but are intense, where night shifts are the norm not the exception.
Shell & concrete work requires careful attention to life safety issues, as heavy equipment is constantly in motion, cargo & materials are being lifted by cranes, and the overall environment is challenging. Ensuring compliance from other participants (soils & concrete testing, engineer of record/city and/or county inspections) is also important. Constructive communications skills are important. We want our projects to be orderly, clean, efficient and safe - in addition to meeting all design requirements.
In South Florida points to mainly spanish-speaking worker crews, so fluency in spanish is important. This changes as we move North.
Salary and benefits are open to discussion and will be mainly dependent on comparable positions in the company as well as the candidates' fit to requirements.
