Bond’s engineering leads support the teams that bring our products to life. You’ll work with engineering teams on projects that span various parts of our system, as well as with our business, sales and operations teams to understand and solve our users’ pain points.
At Bond, everyone leads and everyone supports. Engineering leads must constantly raise the bar by rolling up their sleeves and setting the development pace for their teams.
You will:
- Given an open ended microservice project, with multiple unsolved problems requiring research, you will -- individually, or by leading a team -- problem-solve and code it into a clean, Dockerized app using Python and AGILE methods in less than a month
- Organize, motivate, and develop a team of up to 14 people
- Analyze multiple approaches to solving problems, across multiple languages and frameworks, and you can support your choices with clear, logical communication. You can inspire buy-in and best efforts from your team by asking critical questions and empowering their intelligence. You actively promote this ability in your reporting managers by example and through coaching
- Report progress and results concisely. You independently anticipate and communicate potential problems in both directions. You can easily adapt your communication style to multiple audiences
You must have:
- A CS degree, a STEM or business degree plus a bootcamp, or overwhelming evidence of experience and accomplishment
- 4 years experience coding, and 4 years experience managing people, perhaps partially concurrent
You also likely have:
- 8 total years of combined leadership and tech experience
- Advanced EQ, empathy, and desire to connect with and empower other people
- You proactively self educate on current trends in tech and leadership, and continually update your best practices without guidance. You educate your team and reporting managers on all the above, and encourage their own self-education
