We're looking for an AI Architect with an interest in interactive/generative storytelling.
At Artie, our goal is to bring virtual characters to life in augmented reality. Our work encompasses the fields of cloud computing, computer vision, machine learning, emotional AI, natural-language understanding, game engines, and augmented reality.
As our AI Architect you will implement the underlying knowledge system for our virtual characters, including aspects of memory and personality. Specifically, you will have access to our characters’ awareness of the world (via their computer vision and natural-language understanding abilities) and use them to teach our characters how to react in a believable way. Your goal will be to help us create virtual characters that appear to be emotionally-aware and highly engaging.
Requirements:
- Experience building decision engines for virtual characters (a.k.a. software agents)
- Previous work in affective computing
- Well versed in all aspects of the machine learning development life cycle: data curation, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment
- Building ontologies or knowledge graphs, and extracting semantics from them
- Interest in multi-modal decision making
- Social simulations
- 7+ years of experience with a modern programming language (Java, Python, C#, C++)
- Knowledge of machine learning and computer vision
- Preference for working in a startup
- Experience with cross-disciplinary collaboration
- A passion for bringing characters to life
- A desire to help create a next-generation relationship between human and machine
Bonus:
- Interest/basic knowledge of augmented reality
- Interest/basic knowledge of Unity and/or Unreal
- Experience building enterprise software systems
