Our software engineers build tools and infrastructure to gather, analyze, and visualize art market data. Our current JavaScript stack is Node.js/Puppeteer for data ingestion and React/Apollo/GraphQL for data visualization. Our current Python stack is Numpy/Pandas/PeeWee/Sci-kit Learn. We primarily use Redis/Postgres/Google Cloud/Kubernetes for infrastructure.
Responsibilities
We’re looking for a Senior JavaScript Engineer to:
- Be proficient in JavaScript (ES6)
- Have a solid understanding of the DOM and its APIs.
- Design and implement major tool and infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with data science and operations to develop product roadmap
- Build out infrastructure, testing, model validation, and data visualization systems
- Incorporate knowledge and algorithms from many different domains
- Have a predisposition to embrace managerial duties in the future
- Designing scalable systems and making architectural decisions
- Task-monitoring, sprint planning, and excellent time management
- Mentor other junior level engineers
- Feel comfortable setting team goals and monitoring success
Qualifications
Candidates should have most of the following:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or some equivalent
- 3-4 years of work experience with JavaScript, preferably startup experience building scalable systems maintaining applications in production
- Experience working in professional environments
- Software architecture experience with build tools and DevOps (We use Kubernetes on GCP)
- Proficient in SQL and Node.js
- Intrinsic motivation and the ability to learn quickly
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a team
- Experience working at a start-up is a plus
- Art knowledge or industry experience is a plus
- Business/finance knowledge is a plus
