Summary
Armison Tech is seeking a motivated, experienced network security engineer to support a customer in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of network design and implementation, regularly integrates best security practices, and comfortable in command line driven work environments. The position requires working on-site in a client environment.
Job Requirements
Must maintain active/current TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
Satisfy many, if not all, of the following requirements:
- Knowledgeable of industry best practices for developing, testing, and maintaining secure networks
- Understanding of network/cyber security, penetration testing, and information security practices
- Experience monitoring network activity, to include packet inspection, traffic analysis, performance characterization (e.g. Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.)
- Hands on experience with network logging and monitoring tools such as Cisco Network Analysis Module, SPLUNK, LogRhythm and SolarWinds
- Hands on experience using scripting languages for automation, parsing data sets, and network monitoring (e.g. Bash, Perl, Python, etc.)
- Proficient in a Linux/UNIX environment - Centos, Ubuntu, Fedora, Solaris, etc.
- Hands on experience with Linux network security tools - (e.g. Metasploit, Burp Suite, nmap, etc.)
- Hands on experience configuring and reviewing Linux iptables and SELinux tools and products
- Experience conducting incidence response to include research and identification of attack vector, malware mitigation and removal, and event documentation
- Experience with and ability to research the latest security developments in these operating systems and applications
- Proficient with current Microsoft user and server operating systems
- Proven ability to design and develop integrated network solutions using Linux and traditional network devices
- Ability to integrate and enhances database applications
- Database experience, to include writing complex queries and modifying schemas (e.g. Oracle, MySQL)
- Experience configuring network devices (e.g. routers, switches, etc.)
- Experience building virtual infrastructure - (e.g. vSphere)
- Experience in the design, implementation, procurement, tradecraft, or maintenance of various layers of network infrastructure
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Seven or more years of experience as a Network Engineer, System Engineer, or Penetration Tester
