About Role:
As a Projects Engineer, you will work with the Projects Team on engineering related matters from site exploration through construction.
What You’ll Do:
- Provides engineering and technical support to the Projects Team from site exploration through project completion.
- Works on multiple projects simultaneously, with a commitment to thorough and efficient completion of project tasks.
- Creates detailed topographic drawings from survey raw data, engineering data, and publicly available data.
- Works with Projects Team to design optimal site layout for project.
- Uses a variety of design/drafting methods with focus on earthwork grading.
- Performs cut/fill analysis on prospective project sites.
- Uses GIS software to confirm road and utility access.
- Prepares site suitability reports for Projects Team including analyses of soils, earthwork grading, potential geological hazards, and utilities.
- Evaluates site engineering drawings and provides technical advice to Projects Team.
- Determines applicable codes, regulations and requirements for assigned projects.
- Reviews project development plans for compliance with codes, regulations and standards, adequacy of applications for permits, and compliance with approved plans.
- Maintains the engineering library.
- Maintains regular contact with consulting engineers, construction project engineers, city, county, state and federal agencies regarding relevant engineering related project activities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, GIS, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three years’ related experience in engineering, project management, or related field.
- Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, survey field files, and other design and drafting software.
- Proficiency with cut/fill balance grading design.
- Construction experience and surveying ability is highly valued.
- Experience using GIS software is strongly preferred.
- Advanced degrees in engineering or project management are a plus.
- GIS Certified Professional (GISP) preferred.
