About Role:
As the Director of People Operations, you will be responsible for crafting our company culture and building a team of world class talent to drive our mission and uphold our company values.
What You’ll Do:
- Develops and administers employee programs and initiatives including recruiting, onboarding, health and welfare plans, performance cycles, workforce planning, compensation, leaves of absence, retention and engagement strategies, and offboarding.
- Creates clear internal policies, ensures policy awareness, and helps carry out policy implementation.
- Works with greenhouse HR managers to develop and implement a strategy for recruiting and hiring greenhouse employees.
- Coordinates with greenhouse HR managers to ensure the implementation of company culture and special employee programs at the greenhouse level.
- Designs and maintains a smooth onboarding process.
- Manages employee files and HR records across internal systems and implements steps to ensure comprehensive data integrity.
- Ensures accurate payroll record keeping and proper deductions.
- Develops a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
- Conducts screening interviews, verifies references, compares qualifications to job requirements, and filters candidates for open positions
- Resolves conflicts through positive and professional mediation.
- Carries out necessary administrative duties.
- Creates clear and concise reports.
- Maintains and reports on workplace health and safety compliance.
- Handles workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, and termination procedures.
- Maintains employee and workplace privacy.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree and five years of human resource experience, or nine years of experience in the HR field.
- Experience administering employee benefits, including health, welfare and 401(k).
- Five years of recruiting experience.
- A master's degree in human resource management is a preferred.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential is a plus.
- Human resources experience in the agriculture industry is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Dutch) is not required but is a plus.
